First, a marriage to a man who was emotionally absent, unfaithful, and couldn't even show up for the birth of their third child. Then, a post-divorce relationship that promised something different and delivered more of the same.
Katie is not the problem. But this episode is about the moment she started wondering if she was — and what it took to stop.
This is a story about emotional neglect, the patterns we repeat when we haven't finished healing, and the particular exhaustion of trying to get someone to validate pain they caused. It's also about recognizing the cycle. Because you can't break what you can't name.
